The refuse site had been experiencing persistent operational and security challenges, including regular incidents of fly-tipping, theft of valuable equipment, and a lack of monitoring for potential fire hazards within refuse piles. To address these risks and ensure round-the-clock oversight, a comprehensive surveillance solution was required. The system specified included thermal cameras for early fire hazard detection, LPR (Licence Plate Recognition) cameras to monitor vehicle movements, dual-lens PTZ cameras with auto-tracking functionality for broad area coverage, and cameras equipped with active deterrence features to discourage unauthorised access. These installations were supported by 24/7 monitoring from the site office, enabling full visual coverage and real-time incident response. Since implementation, the team has reported significantly improved situational awareness and an increased sense of site control and security.
